Review

This is a very special book that I would love to see in every school, library, and home!

It’s such a wonderful resource for teaching children about the effect single-use plastic is having on our world, in particular our beautiful oceans.

The author has come up with an incredibly fun storyline that will engage kids and allow them to fully comprehend the book’s message. And, the illustrations are beautiful and vibrant, bringing the story to life in a way that’s even more magical.

I hope that it continues to reach readers far and wide because I feel that it will have a hugely positive impact on our planet and its inhabitants!

Story

Not a Drop in the Ocean is about a family who, while on holiday, take part in a beach clean-up. During the beach clean-up, they find something interesting which takes them on a Marine adventure where they meet a host of beautiful and interesting marine life and even Mother Nature.

NADITO has amazing illustrations of beaches and marine animals such as Whales, Dolphins, Turtles and Octopus while also carrying a message for both the reader and the audience about the damage being caused by plastic.

NADITO is perfect for children aged between 4 and 8, although I believe that newborns to 4 will love having the story read to them thanks to the beautiful story and illustrations.

Illustration’s

The illustrator for my book is Nadia Ronquillo, who is Ecuadorian and has a passion for marine life and in particular the Galapagos Islands. For more information about Nadia, please click the Illustrator section of the website.

Not a Drop in the Ocean will help spread the right message to its readers and audience and develop an awareness of the dangers of using single-use plastics in a non-scary and fun way.

The Goal

kids-reading-webexpand-purchase-bigstock

We all know how important it is that we spread awareness of the dangers of plastic to our marine environment. My mission is to get a copy of my book into as many tiny hands as possible. I know Not a Drop in the Ocean will make a difference.

I am planning to translate my book into other languages as we all know this is a global problem and I want to spread the message far and wide.

I would love to get copies in to Schools, Libraries and other educational facilities, children’s charities and Marine Conservation projects. The more tiny hands we can get Not a Drop in the Ocean into, the bigger difference we can make. We would also like to develop other sustainable projects and further books in the series that promote environmental awareness and sustainability.

Sustainably printed

NADITO is printed on Forest Stewardship Council FSC® certified paper. FSC paper means it is sourced from forests that have been audited by an independent third party to confirm they are managed according to FSC’s rigorous social and environmental standards.

The ink used in the printing will be vegetable ink. Vegetable-based inks are widely recognised as the environmentally friendly choice.

NADITO has 24 pages and will be 20.3cm x 25.4cm or 8 inches x 10 inches in size.

An integral part of my project was to ensure sustainability from the start. Not a Drop in the Ocean has to be printed in the most sustainable way possible.

I just want to help. I am not an activist, I’m not a scientist, I’m not a superhero, and I’m certainly not a politician.
